Ukrainian Evacuee Welcome Centre at Hillhurst United | July 7, 2022 Update

Hillhurst United Church is hosting the Ukrainian Evacuee Welcome Center in July. This program, originally based at St. Vladimer's Orthodox church, had to temporarily relocate for three weeks due to space availability.

If you would like to volunteer, please sign up for a shift. Volunteers should be physically able to assist with accepting/moving donations (small household goods) and complete other duties requested by St. Vladamir's volunteer leadership team.vAll volunteers must be 18 and older.

Please only register for one volunteer session, as there are many people who would like to help!

Donations of the items listed below are also welcome.

Bedding (new items only)

  • Bed sheet sets;

  • comforters;

  • pillows and pillow cases;

  • blankets, duvets and duvet covers;

  • towels.

Toiletries (new items only)

  • Pots and pans;

  • plates and kitchenware;

  • mugs and glasses;

  • electric kettles;

  • socket plug adapters (Ukraine to Canada) and iPhone / smartphone chargers.

Miscellaneous (excellent condition only)

  • Dish soap (incl. pods);

  • laundry soap (incl. pods);

  • deodorant (mens' and women’s);

  • shampoo and conditioner;

  • body wash and bath sponges;

  • shower curtains and hooks;

  • shaving supplies;

  • moisturizing cream and lip balm;

  • face and body lotions.
