Heritage Room Reopening
We’re getting ready to celebrate the reopening of our Heritage Room, and we’d love for you to be part of making this special evening a success! There are several ways to lend a hand, from welcoming guests and helping with tickets to keeping the food and hospitality area running smoothly, serving beverages, or helping with the final cleanup.
Greeters / Ticket Sales
Welcome guests, confirm registrations, and sell tickets at the door.
3 volunteers | 5:30–7:00 PM
Food & Hospitality Team
Keep food stocked and the hospitality area tidy, and help clear dirty dishes and return them to the kitchen.
5 volunteers | 5:30–9:00 PM
Bartenders
Serve wine and beverages to guests. ProServe certification is required.
2 volunteers | 5:30–9:00 PM
Take-Down Team
Help clean up, take down the event, and make sure dishes are washed and sanitized.
4 volunteers | 9:00–10:00 PM
Whether you can welcome someone through the door, lend a hand behind the scenes, or help us wrap things up at the end, your time and energy will help make this celebration a wonderful one.

Maintenance DaY
Are you good with tools? Do you love tinkering? Fancy yourself good with a paint brush? We need your help! Hillhurst has a few minor maintenance projects that need your help to keep our church home in top shape.
Join us for a fun day of caring for our church building on Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drop in for an hour or stay for the day. There will be a variety of projects to match different skills and interests, including:
Installing a blind in the library
Installing parking lot signage
Repairing a scratch on the Annex entry door
Painting touch-ups near the new intercom area and gym stage
Adjusting the Sanctuary door so it closes more easily
Installing a new door sweep on the back door
Whether you have a particular skill to share or simply want to lend a hand, everyone is welcome. Many hands make light work, and together we can care for our church home.

Sewing New Chair Covers
The brown chair covers in the Heritage Room are tattered, ripped, or worn out, and help is needed to create a pattern and sew new covers.

Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer
We are evolving how we manage our financial stewardship! To ensure our leadership roles are sustainable and life-giving, we have transitioned from a single Treasurer position to a collaborative two-role structure. By splitting the work, we have made the roles more focused, reduced the individual time commitment, and built in automatic vacation coverage and support.
Two Roles, Two Ways to Serve
Whether you enjoy behind-the-scenes precision or high-level leadership, there is a place for your skills:
Assistant Treasurer (The Specialist): Focuses on "back-end" support such as financial analysis and reporting. Ideal for someone who loves detail and averages 15-20 hours per month.
Treasurer (The Leader): Acts as the "front-facing" financial voice on the Board. This role focuses on strategic leadership and reporting to the congregation.
Why Join the Finance Team?
Manageable Commitment: Splitting the roles significantly reduces the workload for each person.
Never Walk Alone: Both roles are part of the Finance Committee, offering a space for mentorship and collaboration.
Built-in Redundancy: You will have a partner who understands the work, ensuring peace of mind during vacations.
Growth Opportunity: The Assistant role is a perfect "on-ramp" to learn the ropes of church finance with the support of the Treasurer.

Building & Maintenance Committee
We would like (2) members of the congregation to join us.
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours a month
The Building and Maintenance Contributors support the church’s mission by ensuring that facilities are safe, functional, welcoming, and well cared for. Through hands-on service, preventative maintenance, repairs, and stewardship of church property, this role helps create an environment where worship, fellowship, and ministry can flourish. A consistent and coordinated approach to maintenance and repair with a vision for long term sustainability is needed.

Governance & Leadership: Help shape our ministry’s direction through roles in finance, administration, planning, and strategic oversight.
Direct Support & Settlement: Be part of the welcoming team! Assist newly arrived families with housing setup, transportation, orientation, and ongoing support as they settle into the community.
